Steakhouse No. 316

We’re always keeping an eye out for new restaurants and businesses in Boulder, so when we heard about Steakhouse No. 316, we knew we absolutely had to check it out. Their original restaurant in Aspen was so successful, they decided to open one here in Boulder! The steakhouse is located on 13th St in the building that used to be Connor O’Neils. They completely gutted the space to the brick and mortar, and the transformation is amazing. They’ve created the perfect vibe, with dark wood, a cool lounge area, dim lighting, and a cozy fireplace. The ambiance in combination with their excellent food will have you never wanting to leave!

Cocktails & Happy Hour

Devil’s Advocate

Devil’s Advocate

Of course we started the evening in the lounge, with the Happy Hour menu and some fabulous cocktails (ya’ll know we love the cocktails and a good HH!). We had the Devil’s Advocate and the Sassafrass. The Devil’s Advocate is aptly named, as it comes lit on fire! It’s a cocktail that’s Mezcal based, with peach, habanero and cinnamon honey (yes please!). The Sassafrass was Vodka based and tasted like an adult fruit punch. Can’t go wrong there. They have great happy hour options with small plates and discounted cocktails. We tried the Crab Croquettes from the menu, which were absolutely wonderful.

Table-side Caeser Salad

This was really a highlight of the evening. We love love love the rolling cart to your table idea. Though, this one was super unique in that they prepare a caesar salad to your liking right in front of you. It’s quite an impressive presentation. Not to mention, it was one of the best caesar salads we’ve ever had! Is there such thing as a salad artist? Because if so, the gentleman who prepared ours deserves that title!

Entrees + Dessert

We ordered the Bone-in Filet with the Crab Oscar, per our server’s recommendation. To be completely honest, we had no idea what an “oscar” was, but, turns out it’s combination of bearnaise sauce, asparagus and in this case, crab. Of course, as a steakhouse, we expected the steak to be the main event, and it definitely was. The meat was cooked to perfection and was that melt-in-your-mouth kind of meat. We also tried the Wild Mushroom Parisian Gnocchi, which was rich and flavorful with a hint of unexpected sweetness. It complimented the steak extremely well.

And last, but definitely not least, dessert. (Insert heart eyes emoji here). We are both huge fans of dessert, and this definitely satisfied our cravings! Decadent chocolate cake topped with vanilla ice cream and dried strawberries, with a strawberry puree sauce.

Our experience at Steakhouse No. 316 exceeded our expectations. We loved the vibe of the lounge area for a more laid back happy hour and cocktails and the formal dining room for an upscale dining experience. Absolutely everything we tried was delicious and well worth a visit.
