A Weekend in Keystone

Keystone has been a favorite of ours for years. It does get crowded during ski season, but you really can’t beat the proximity to Denver/Boulder, the free parking at the base of the mountain, and the prices for ski in/ski out condos. We also love going in the warmer weather with all of the hiking and biking you can do. Through the years, we’ve found some of our favorite spots we frequent when we’re in town. Have any additional favorites? Leave a comment below!

Lodging: Tenderfoot Lodge

This condo has all the upgrades and is super luxurious. It has a spacious floor plan and comfortably accommodated 6 people (including use of the blowup mattress, which was as comfy as a regular bed). It also has a large dining room table that fit everyone for meals and playing games. We love that it’s walking distance to the slopes, so we didn’t have to mess with a shuttle. You can check out the VRBO listing here.

Brunch: Haywood Cafe

Haywood Cafe - Best bacon Bloody Mary. Ever. Seriously- we have dreams about it. We would pair it with the sexy mexy bennie or the dog bowl (which is actually served in a dog bowl!) We love the vibe of this cafe and have always been satisfied with the service. It’s definitely our go-to spot anytime we are in Keystone.

Happy hour: Zuma Roadhouse

Zuma has a great happy hour 2-5pm daily. It is really tough to find weekend happy hours, so we were sold! The prices were very reasonable considering it’s located in River Run Village. We loved the mules (there were 6 different flavors) as well as the Brussel Sprouts with goat cheese. Plus it had a super cozy vibe! Despite the location, they got us in quickly and the service was great!

Late night eats/drinks: The Goat

This is definitely the best spot to grab drinks on the late night! It has a dive bar feel with great drink prices and yummy bar food. They even have some arcade games. There’s always a friendly crowd, typically all still in their ski gear!

Pro Tip: check out Chimayo if your passing through Silverthorne. Order the fish tacos and you won’t be disappointed!
